A practical 3-week, 15-hour online course about preparing students for GESE Elementary (Grades 4-6, A2.2-B1.2).

Participants will be able to explore how to help students pass the GESE elementary assessment with some practical activities, resources and through the interaction with other participants on the course.



The objectives of this course are:

-  Effective lesson planning

-  Practical communicative and interactive activities 

-  How to increase motivation when preparing for the assessment
-  Classroom management techniques for the success of communicative activities

    From Monday, 16th of May 

    A free, 15-hour online course offering teacher support over 3 weeks/4 weekends to empower teachers to prepare candidates for Trinity College London's GESE Intermediate level: grades 7 (CEFR B2.1); grade 8 (CEFR B2.2); and grade 9 (CEFR B2.3). 

    This course has challenging and inspiring resources with tasks to encourage a reflective approach. Special attention will be given to the 'Interactive Phase'

    Course participants can make contributions to discussion forums, learn from colleagues and participate in activity-based learning involving the creation of tasks. Much of the course can be done at one's own pace, although there are some group activities that are best done within the same time frame. 

    To apply for a place on this course you must be highly motivated and ideally have at least C1 CEFR level. Just click on the course title, follow the instructions and  confirmation will be sent on Friday, 18th January. (NB. Numbers are limited to 40 participants, so please do NOT request a place if you even think you may not have enough time). NB: ONE course per registered user! If you do request more than one course, you MUST state your preference/first choice on the application form in the first box that says 'Comment' to avoid any misunderstanding.

    Quest for Best: Trinity Stars and Teaching Young Learners (March)

    A 3 week, 15 hour, free online course (4 weekends) which encourages the teaching and learning of English language through drama, music and performance.  It is a group award, designed for children aged anywhere between 3 and 12 years old who are starting to learn English. Preparing children for the award shows how performance-related activity supports learning, motivates children and builds their confidence and communication skills. Trinity Stars has been designed to support both learning in the classroom and teachers’ professional development. The main aims are: to reflect on and acquire new teaching strategies when teaching young learners; to become familiar with the Trinity Stars Young Performers in English Performance award and to start preparing a Trinity Stars performance; to become familiar with theories and teaching strategies to improve their learners´ skills and to plan and design activities they can use in the classroom; to share teaching experiences and to raise their awareness of how integrating language and performance goals can improve language learning.

    Lola Reeves Garay:
    Lola is a teacher, a teacher trainer and a specialist in SLA, SLDs and CLIL. She has been in education for over 20 years. She has managed academic programs, published classroom material and created and delivered teaching development programs, conferences and workshops for educators in mainstream education and language teaching in Spain, Portugal, the UK, etc. She works in public education and is also involved in research. She works as an educational consultant in various public and private schools across the country.
