A 3 week, 15 hour, online course over four weekends to help teachers develop how they teach listening skills and also to prepare candidates for the Independent Listening task of the Speaking and Listening Module of Trinity College London Integrated Skills in English at Foundation and ISE I levels. The main aims of this course are:
- to reflect on strategies involving 'Top-down and Bottom up' knowledge
- to highlight the importance of developing 'note-taking skills'
- to stimulate, refine and provide a variety of teaching ideas and practical tips for teachers wanting to develop how they teach listening skills and sub-skills at A2 and B1 (CEFR)
- to familiarise participants with the format of the ISE Foundation/ISE I independent listening tasks and to encourage teachers to reflect on the skills students need to develop in order to perform well in the Independent Listening Tasks of the Speaking and Listening Module.
